The
Country Club of Arkansas
Before you take the leisurely 75 mile drive to Fairfield Bay, you
must play this Robert Miller design.
Located minutes from Little Rock,
with easy access from both I-430 and I-40, The Country Club of Arkansas
offers the ideal location and setting for your first round of golf.
This course is
beautiful from
every angle. The greens are manicured with great care. With
water on 11 holes, sparkling streams, and fairways graced by Loblolly
Pines, this track captures the majestic beauty of Central Arkansas.
Miller planned this course to vary from the most challenging holes to some
fun holes depending on the width of the fairways. A great start to
the golfing experience.
Mountain Ranch Golf Club
This formerly private club is carved out of its natural surroundings
and features spectacular views of the Ozark Mountains. The front nine
is gently sloping, while the back nine demands strategy and precise shot
making. The signature hole is #14, a 560 -yard par 5, featuring an
eighty-foot drop from tee to fairway. The 15th hole challenges players
with an uphill 395-yard par 4 that is considered to be the toughest hole in
the state. This Ed Ault design is rated #1 Public Course in the state
and 4 Stars by Golf Digest.
Indian Hills Country Club
This facility is a privat e club, however, guests at the
resort may play here. And it's well worth the stay. The course
was built on rolling terrain and features tree-lined fairways. Water
hazards come into play on a couple holes. This is a
very demanding course, but very scenic. Don't let the beauty of the
Ozark Mountains detract you too much. Ed Ault also designed this track
and the signature hole #2 is the beauty and the beast, where
you must hit your shot to the green that is surrounded by rock and
water. It's pretty when you're dancing and ugly if you're
not.
