Kiva
Dunes
On
an extraordinary piece of property that lies directly on the Gulf of
Mexico, golf enthusiasts have the opportunity to play a magnificent
seaside layout. Without prior
knowledge to the contrary, you might easily believe Kiva Dunes was built
at the turn of the last century, or even earlier. It looks as though
it’s always been there, as if the holes were a natural extension of the
land on which they were found. "That's
the mark of a good design," designer Jerry Pate says. "I
went to great lengths to give the place a certain
timelessness." Pate
blended the holes with an eye for all skill levels, testing the best
players with forced carries, long par-fours, and strategic green
complexes, but leaving simpler options open for less proficient golfers
who simply want to enjoy their rounds. "Routing
is so important in any design," Pate said. "I tried to make Kiva
Dunes a golf course the not only gave you a lot of options, but one that
tested all the shots." This
course has also been ranked nationally by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine,
and featured in Senior Golf, USGA Golf Journal and LINKS.

Glenlakes Golf Club
Considered by many to be "the best value on the

their characteristically large, undulating greens. To say the least, golfers
of all abilities will love the challenging shots, natural beauty and truly

is golf at its very best.
Peninsula Golf Club
Of
all the great coastal golf courses, Earl Ston e's creation at Peninsula may
be the most unique. This 27-hole layout set on beautiful Mobile Bay
promises the golfer nothing short of an awesome experience. Situated on
820 secluded acres touched on two sides by the Bon Secour Wildlife
Preserve, the Peninsula represents one of the region's most spectacular
venues for Alabama golf. This masterful course winds through live oaks,
cypress and natural vegetation, featuring more than 30 lakes and some of
the area's largest white-sand bunkers and waste areas. Numerous tee boxes
