Mystic Rock
This course was the former host the PGA Tour's 84 Lumber Classic of
Pennsylvania and sprawls majestically throughout Nemacolin's wooded
acreage.
Designed
by the legendary Pete Dye, this course promises golfers a challenge like
no other. The 6,832-yard course was three years in the making, and
received top honors from Golf Magazine and Golf Digest in its opening
year. The course has undergone extensive changes from its original
design based on feedback from top PGA Tour players. Mystic Rock is a
golf tour de force, punctuated with giant boulders, Sahara like bunkers
and wickedly undulating greens. It has water coming into play on ten
holes. Even though the fairways are cut out of the woods, they still
afford generous landing areas. The greens are large and undulating.
The signature hole is #12, a 173-yard par 3 requiring a tee shot over
water to the green. Mystic Rock has a 78.3 rating and 153 slope from the
championship tees. Now that’s a challenge for you!
The Links
was built
amongst the Laurel Mountains and features large, fast greens. The
terrain is naturally hilly and the fairways are lined with large rocks
and trees. Hit one of these boulders and guess where your ball will
land! Built in 1978 and designed by Willard Rockwell and Joe Hardy, the
owner and of 84 Lumber fame. The Links, the resort’s original course,
provides you with a touch of Scotland. At 6,643 yards from the tips,
reaching most of the holes is not a problem... but that's where the fun
begins. Pu tting
these problematic greens can give even the most accomplished player
fits! The Links provides a first-rate golfing experience at an
affordable cost, sculpted through the Laurel Highlands where rocks and
water naturally come into play on several holes. Deep woods, high rough
and lakes surround the beautiful fairways with majestic views of the
Alleghenies. It is kinder than Mystic Rock, but with several water
hazards and yawning sand bunkers, this track can be a big challenge.
The front nine eases you into your round and the back nine is very
scenic. Don’t let it distract you! | Prices: |
