The Links Course
Golf Course Architect Tom Jackson designed this track over 25 years ago.
D uring
construction, Mr. Jackson unearthed a rhythmic flow of par 3s, 4s and 5s
winding their way through the area’s lakes, marshes and pine forests.
The Links Course at Sandestin plays into a strong, prevailing Gulf Coast
wind making precise club selection essential. Water features on 13 of
course’s 18 holes make shot accuracy a necessity and have earned the
course the title of one of the most challenging “resort” courses in all
of Florida. In fact, the The Links’ 9th hole recalls the spirit of
another fine “links course”, the 18th at Pebble Beach, as it runs along
Choctawhatchee Bay and plays to a 536 yard, par 5.
Baytowne Golf Club
After carving the
masterpiece
called The Links Course, Tom Jackson returned to Sandestin to develop
this course. As Jackson himself says, "Each hole has a personality all
its own." And that's what makes this course so special. The front nine
boasts a 3,300 yard, heavily bunkered, pine tree-lined layout. The back
nine treats you to vistas only available in Northwest Florida, with the
Gulf of Mexico to the south and the Choctawhatchee Bay to the north.
With reverence to the land on which it was built, and the architect's
understanding of how to challenge a player, Baytowne meets all the
criteria of a truly great course.
The Raven Golf Club
at Sandestin weaves its way through the property's wetlands, marshes and
thick st ands
of pine trees and features, according to course architect Robert Trent
Jones, Jr. "a run of some of the best par 3s, 4s and 5s in the
Southeast." Marked by lush landscaping, dramatic water features and
varying bunker patterns providing each hole with a personality all its
own. The Raven Golf Club is unique for the way it maximizes the
landscape - the course looks different from morning to late afternoon.
The Raven measures 6,900 yards from the championship tees, plays to a
par 71 and features water on 11 of the 18 holes. The Raven Golf Club at
Sandestin is third in a network of Raven resort golf facilities
dedicated to catering to your every need while providing you with some
of the finest playing conditions in the nation. The golfers here truly
experience the "member for a day" service.
Burnt Pine Country Club
Golf course archite ct
Rees Jones has crafted what many believe to be an unrivaled golf
experience in the Southeast. Burnt Pine’s tumbling fairways and
undulating greens meander their way through the wetlands, marshes and
towering pine trees and stretch more than 7,000 yards from the
championship tees. Twelve of Burnt Pine’s 18 holes require shots over
water and in true Jones fashion; every hole is strategically bunkered
from tee to green. Open to Sandestin Resort guests on a limited basis
since 1994, Burnt Pine has been referred to as the “Crown Jewel of
Florida Golf” by Golf Magazine and recognized as one of the Top 30
courses in Florida by Golf Digest. When you experience Burnt Pine Golf
Club, take in all of the breath-taking views of the emerald coastline
and Florida’s golden bayou.
